Sonia Est\u00e9vez is a director, producer, model maker and stop motion animator. She is a founding partner and administrator of Tik Tak Animation, an independent production company, a social initiative cooperative, specialising in stop motion animation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has professionally directed three short films; Txotxongiloa, Malkoak and Plazer bat and several commercials using this animation technique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is currently a member and active member of MIA (Women in the Animation Industry), CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers and the Audiovisual Media) and Hemen (Association of women in the audiovisual and performing arts sector in the Basque Country). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has trained in stop motion animation in Barcelona, at the 9zeros Animation School and at the Cifo in Hospitalet, in executive production at the Media Training consultancy firm and has taken the Stop Motion I and II course at the Aardman Academy. She took courses in Digital Art and Audiovisual Projects at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vitoria-Gasteiz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was selected for the CIMA Mentoring 1to1 programme (2023-24) in the speciality of Animation Direction. She studied Forestry and Environmental Chemistry, so she combines audiovisual production and sustainability. He uses stop motion animation as a means to make social problems visible. She teaches several animation courses and workshops for all ages. She has been nominated for the Goya Awards 2024 for her first professional animated short film,Txotxongiloa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
