
Itsaso Pol
Oñati, 1993. She studied performing arts and audiovisual communication at Nebrija University in Madrid. In 2016, she completed her final year as an Erasmus student at Regent’s University in London.
In 2017, back in Madrid, she studied film directing at the Septima Ars film school. There, she shot the short film ‘Caja de Cerillas’ (Matchbox) as her final project, which was later selected for the PNR Festival in Madrid, in the FEMMES section. In 2018, she worked on advertising and fiction shoots. In 2019, she joined the casting department as an assistant, a position she has held ever since, participating in projects such as As Bestas, Antidisturbios, Azken Erromantikoak, Intimidad, and others.
In 2022, she shot her first professional short film, ‘Aita,’ which was selected for several national and international festivals, including ‘Psicurt,’ ‘Enkarzine,’ and the ‘Lubling Film Festival.’ In 2025, she joined the AUKERA programme with the short film project ‘Azken uda.’
She likes to focus her attention on projects that reflect on how our environment and the people around us influence us. When she creates, she focuses her gaze on characters immersed in internal struggles.
