Natalia Grande

Una habitación propia

Natalia Grande is a director of photography and filmmaker. She graduated in Cinematography from ECAM thanks to a scholarship awarded by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. She was born in Madrid in 1989, but from the age of six she grew up in Cusco, Peru. It was in Lima where she began her career in cinema as a camera assistant and focus puller. Throughout her career, she has worked on 22 films and has been director of photography on several short films and two feature films, one of which won Best Film at the Lima Alternativa Film Festival in Peru.

Beyond her work in film, she is the co-founder of AMA, an organisation that promotes gender equality in the audiovisual sector and played a decisive role in the emergence of the #MeToo movement within the Peruvian film industry. She currently resides in Spain, where she represented the LGTBIQ+ working group at CIMA, the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media in Spain, for a time. She is currently developing her first feature film as a director, Préstame tus ojos (Lend Me Your Eyes), which has already been selected for the AG DOK programme, futurDOK, as part of the DOK Leipzig festival, and for DOC.LAB Coimbra 2025, where it won the award for best project, as well as for ZG PRO 2025, where it won the Industry award.
