
Paula Olaz
Paula Olaz (Pamplona, 1989) is a Spanish composer specialising in original soundtracks for film, television, theatre, dance and video games. Her work is characterised by the fusion of artistic creativity and scientific research.
She has composed original music for more than 20 feature films, establishing herself as one of the most active composers in contemporary Spanish cinema. Among her most notable works are the films “Raqa” (Gerardo Herrero), “El bus de la Vida” (Ibón Cormenzana), “Verano en Rojo” (Belén Macías), “Alguien que cuide de mí” (Elvira Lindo and Daniela Féjerman), “Las Buenas Compañías” (Silvia Munt), ‘Bajo Terapia’ (Gerardo Herrero), “Nora” (Lara Izagirre), “La Cima” (Ibon Cormenzana), and “Crónica de una tormenta” (Mariana Barassi).
She was recently awarded the Lorca Prize for Best Original Soundtrack for her work on “Alguien que cuide de mí”. Her career includes more than seven nominations for the Goya Award for Best Original Music, and some of the films she has contributed to have been shortlisted for Oscars and have gained international recognition.
